Adam Lewinson is an experienced criminal defense attorney representing a diverse set of clients in Greater Jacksonville. 


Since he was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2014, Adam has worked exclusively in criminal defense. He has defended thousands of our fellow citizens, adults and children, against all manner of accusations by the government. Such charges include: DUI’s, drug crimes, theft, firearms, violent crimes and probation violations. 


Adam spent the first eight years of his career defending indigent clients at the Public Defender and Office of Regional Conflict in Orlando, Florida.  He has spent the last two years in private practice in Northeast Florida, representing clients in Alachua, Baker, Clay, Columbia, Duval, Gilchrest, Nassau, and St. Johns County.

Experience 

MUSCA LAW, Jacksonville, Florida, 2024 

Associate Attorney: Currently represent eighty clients for every criminal offense short of the death penalty. Most of

my clients are in Duval and Nassau County; however, I am also responsible for and have clients in Alachua, Baker, 

Clay, Columbia, Gilchrest, and St. Johns County. Since joining Musca Law in February of 2024, I have taken two 

cases to jury trial, both Not Guilty verdicts, and have obtained dismissals or successfully negotiated plea deals for 

more than one hundred clients. 

OFFICE OF CRIMINAL CONFLICT, 5TH DISTRICT, Orlando, Florida, 2021- 2023 

Assistant Regional Counsel: Represented indigent clients accused of charges ranging from third-degree felonies to 

life-felonies. Managed an average caseload of seventy spread across every circuit judge in Orange County. Developed 

a client centered practice by getting to know every client and their unique circumstances. Then using motion practice, 

depositions, negotiation, and trial in the attempt to achieve every client’s desired outcome. 

MUSCA LAW, Lakeland, Florida, 2021 

Associate Attorney: Represented a caseload of one hundred clients across the I-4 corridor in all areas of criminal law 

ranging from life-felonies to traffic cases. During my stay with the firm, I obtained a not guilty verdict in a nonjury

trial in a reckless driving case, negotiated dozens of plea agreements to client satisfaction, and transitioned every case 

to the next attorney with a written record of client contact and case strategy.

OFFICE OF THE PUBLIC DEFENDER, 9TH CIRCUIT, Orlando, Florida, 2014-2020 

Assistant Public Defender: Represented thousands of indigent clients in almost all areas of criminal law, including 

litigating cases in county court, traffic court, juvenile court and circuit felony. Completed more than twenty-five jury 

trials and five bench trials. Filed and argued substantive constitutional motions. Advanced to working specifically for 

clients charged with first and second-degree felonies. 

DEATH PENALTY CLINIC, Miami, Florida, 2013-2014 

Certified Legal Intern: Reviewed client health records for mitigation. Drafted a motion to change venue as well as 

consulted with the Office of the Public Defender, Fourth Judicial Circuit on a high-profile death penalty case. 

OFFICE OF THE PUBLIC DEFENDER, 11TH CIRCUIT, Miami, Florida, 2013 

Certified Legal Intern: Worked a felony caseload with the assistance of a supervising attorney. Delivered an opening 

statement in a second-degree felony jury trial. Spoke at arraignments and successfully negotiated plea agreements 

with the State. Deposed law enforcement, victims, and civilian witnesses in various felony cases.

Law Clerk: Assisted partners in several murder cases by summarizing evidence, researching evidentiary issues, and 

interviewing clients. Drafted initial complaints in eviction and employment cases.
